As the Malayalam actress, Honey Rose has filed a case against Boby for sexual harassment which was started during the inauguration of a Chemmanur’s International Jewellery showroom in Kannur on August 7, 2024, where in the actress accused Chemmanur of behaving inappropriately with her during the event. 

So recently, Boby was arrested on January 8, 2025 and charged under the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for sexual harassment and the IT Act for publishing obscene content on social media. But Chemmanur said that all the accusations levelled against him and denied them, calling them false and baseless. As the actress herself publicly disclosed the complaint by posting it on social media. Later on January 14, 2025, Boby was granted bail by the Kerala High Court but after getting bail, he remained in jail, claiming that his decision was to highlight the plight of remand prisoners who cannot be released due to financial constraints. 

This act of Chemmanur also attracted a lot of attention not only from the Kerala High Court but also from the media, for which he was criticized and the court warned that if such behavior continued, his bail could be cancelled. However, after this Chemmanur has apologized to the court.
